Lying in the heart of the hills Braemar is an ideal
centre for walking and climbing in the
Cairngorm Mountains with many munros and corbetts in
the vicinity. It is close to Glenshee, Scotland's most
extensive ski area. Braemar also boasts of an excellent 18
hole golf course with an attractive new
club house and is the highest altitude course in the United Kingdom.
There are many places of interest
in the locality including the castles at Braemar and
Balmoral and Royal Lochnagar distillery.
On the first Saturday of September, the Braemar
Royal Highland Games are held, attracting visitors
from all over the world.
A friendly welcome awaits you at Dalmore House which has good parking facilities
and a large garden with barbecue facilities available for guests in the summer.
Deer often wander along the front drive! The house is close to the centre of the
village convenient for shops, post office, hotels and pubs.
Accommodation is
in en
suite twin or double rooms, there is a large guest sitting room with panoramic
views to the northern hills, TV, tea and coffee making
facilities and a good library of local maps, books and
videos.
There is a drying room, just in case it rains! When possible, transport is available, so you do
not have to start and finish walks at the same point.
