Balmoral was built by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert and is still used by the Royal Family. Braemar Castle is the family home of the Farquharsons who were involved in the Jacobite rebellion of 1715 Pipe Bands ![]() Braemar Royal Highland Games On the first Saturday of September, the BRAEMAR ROYAL HIGHLAND GAMES are held, attracting visitors from all over the world. Braemar also boasts of an excellent 18 hole golf course with an attractive club house. It is the highest altitude 18 hole course in the United Kingdom.
